Chief Financial Officer
The Lucas County Auditor is the CFO for the county.
As such, our office is responsible for overseeing and providing a check and balance to ensure that taxpayer dollars are properly documented.

All county spending is required to be checked by the Auditor's Office prior to the money being disbursed. Our Accounts Payable department ensures that proper documentation is received prior to money being spent.
The Auditor's Office is also in charge of compiling and creating the financial audit for Lucas County. This audit is done by the Auditor of State's Office and is released every year. The Lucas County Auditor's Office also submits the audit to the Government Finance Officers' Association every year, so it can be independently reviewed by government finance experts. This report, known as the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is available on our website for viewing by the public.
All Lucas County employees and some county agencies' employees are paid by the Lucas County Auditor's payroll department.

Millions of dollars of accounting is conducted by the Auditor's payroll department every two weeks to ensure accurate and timely payments are made to these thousands of employees.

W-9 and IRS Reporting is also conducted by the Auditor's Payroll Department for these thousands of employees.
