Cigarette Licenses

Retailers and transporters of cigarettes in Lucas County are required to obtain a Retail Cigarette Dealer’s License, renewed annually. Ohio law prohibits the sale of unapproved cigarette brands and purchases from unlicensed manufacturers.

Cigarette License Renewal Fee: $125.00 per location
Renewal Deadline: June 1

Don't forget your $125 fee in cash or check payable to the Lucas County Auditor. Cards are not accepted.

Duplicate licenses can also be purchased in these ways.

The fee for a duplicate license is $5.00

If you are moving your business to a new location within Lucas County, you can transfer your Cigarette license for a $5.00 fee at the Lucas County Auditor's Office. The associated vendor's license must already be transferred with the State of Ohio.

Only sell cigarette brands approved by the Ohio Attorney General.​
